Creation | Artistic Residence at TRIFOLION Echternach 22-23

With two compositions in nonet instrumentation, the Kammerata pays homage to the České noneto, founded in 1924 and one of the oldest permanent chamber music formations still in existence today. Bohuslav Martinů wrote a nonet in 1959, for the 25th anniversary of the Czech ensemble. The same year, it performed Witold Lutosławski's Dance Preludes for the first time, in a new version of the work originally conceived for clarinet and piano.

Between the two nonettes, the audience will discover a new work by Luxembourgish composer Nik Bohnenberger, written for seven players. What would a world sound like, from which all people have disappeared? The compositional answer to this question is guided by the idea that man-made structures continue to make sounds, just like flora and fauna.
