Cycle tour "Sauertalroute"
Start: Wasserbillig
This tour starts at Luxembourg’s lowest geographical spot, the “Spatz” in Wasserbillig. It follows both river banks of the Sûre and crosses picturesque villages as well as vineyards in Germany and in Luxembourg before reaching the abbey town of Echternach. A short section of the route runs on a footbridge over protected marshland.
Sights: hermit’s chapel “Girsterklaus”, mineral sources and artificial lake (bathing possible) of Rosport, Echternach (town walls, basilica, Benedictine abbey), Bollendorf castle.
