S3 The valley of the Sûre
General information
Even though the first 15 and the last 25 km - and thus almost half of the tour - quietly lead along the river Sûre, the tour can be qualified as demanding. It starts from Echternach and leads along the river to Reisdorf from where it proceeds for almost 30 km uphill along the White Ernz. The tour passes through the charming villages of Ermsdorf, Medernach and Larochette which is suitable for a stopover. From there, it takes you along the White Ernz until Fischbach. From Fischbach, you ride on small roads with nice views through typical villages such as Godbrange and Reuland until Graulinster. After km 55, the tour runs partly downhill along the Syre until Mertert. The last 25 km run comfortably along the Sûre and take you back to Echternach.
