He can look back on an impressive international career as a classically trained bass-baritone, but at the same time feels at home in jazz: Thomas Quasthoff. As "the man with the most beautiful voice in the world", as Stern magazine called him, he knows exactly what he is doing and what he wants.
In fact, this is a rather unusual ensemble. But when Grammy and multiple ECHO winner Quasthoff joins trumpeter Rüdiger Baldauf and guitarist Wolfgang Meyer on stage, one thing above all happens: magic! Three excellent musicians with very different musical roots and life stories. Together they bring emotions to life in music and transform their rich treasure trove of musical life experience into a great emotional world of sound.
Quasthoff was one of the world-famous opera and lieder singers from Germany before he ended his unparalleled career in 2012. The stage would not let him go, and he discovered many new talents in himself. Since then, he has appeared on stage as a recitalist, cabaret artist, presenter and even actor. Long before he left classical music, he also began to pursue his second great love, jazz, which had accompanied him throughout his life. The microphone became his instrument.
In addition to his extensive live performances, Rüdiger Baldauf has produced five of his own albums and published specialist books. Many people also know him as the trumpet player on RTL's "Saturday Night Show" or "TV Total". He has toured with Paul Kuhn Ortchester, Udo Jürgens, the "United Jazz and Rock Ensemble", Shirley Bassey, Joe Zawinul, Maceo Parker and played in productions with Max Greger, Jamie Cullum, George Duke, Michael Bublé, Ray Charles, John Scofield, James Brown, Gentleman, Thomas Quasthoff, Seal, Liza Minelli and Barbra Streisand.
As a jazz guitarist, Wolfgang Meyer performs in the duo 'Shawn & the Wolf' and accompanies Thomas Quasthoff.

The Metz Foundation is a trio of young musicians with a passion for improvised music. Founded in Rotterdam (NL) in 2022, the academics work on their electric and energetic sound identity, serving as the foundation of their artistic vision. Comprising saxophone, electric bass and drums, the trio aims to create groovy music, while blending raw, well-paced sounds with electronic effects. Initially inspired by Donny McCaslin's Casting for Gravity and Blow albums, the trio highlights its own artistic identity with an original and varied repertoire based on their key words "bold, raw, electric, danceable".
The group's activities are focused on Luxembourg, the homeland of leader and saxophonist Joël Metz. In 2024, the trio became the Luxembourg winner of Propulsion 2., a support program for young jazz talent in the Grand Est region and Luxembourg.

After Club Session : Le trio Nobaban
The trio Nobaban, in its formula without a bass player, offers an opening of jazz to modern and electronic sounds, in which tradition nevertheless has its place. The sound universe of Nobaban develops in a constant search for precision and beauty of sound. The musicians in the trio have all received musical training in the jazz tradition. Nobaban's music is strongly inspired by a heritage they love and respect (from Wayne Shorter to Immanuel Wilkins), adding their respective influences from South American music, but also "electro-explosives".
