"Antonio Vivaldi was metal before there was electricity," wrote one YouTube fan – and that's exactly what you'll experience at this extraordinary concert. The 'priest with red hair' was not only the composer of the legendary 'Four Seasons', but also a musical pioneer of his time. His works are full of energy, virtuosity and emotional power — qualities that make him the rock star of the Baroque era.
In the “Vivaldi vs Iron Maiden” project, the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra (SKO), conducted by concertmaster Susanne von Gutzeit, brings together two worlds: Baroque masterpieces and the iconic anthems of the British cult band Iron Maiden. Austrian violinist Bernie Mallinger has arranged the metal legends' global hits exclusively for the SKO, combining razor-sharp riffs, hurricane-like drums and sky-storming bass solos with Baroque brilliance. This is heavy metal at its best – Vivaldi would have loved it!
This year, the SKO is celebrating its 75^(th) anniversary. With around 90 concerts a year, innovative projects and a repertoire ranging from Baroque to modern music, the orchestra sets the standard for the relationship between tradition and the future.
