Born lies in the east of the Mullerthal Region directly on the Sûre and close to the German-Luxembourg border. Orchards, forests and the river landscape of the Sûre valley characterise its rural surroundings. Particularly typical are the traditional “Bongerten” orchards that have been preserved around the village.
Several hiking trails explore the varied landscape around Born. The Auto-Pédestre Born leads through orchards and forests into the Girsterbaach valley and to Burermillen. Part of the route follows the national hiking trail “Sentier de la Basse-Sûre”.
The local hiking trail M1 also starts in Born. It leads through typical orchards, past traditional dry-stone walls and across the surrounding hills, offering views of Born and the Sûre valley. At the starting point, visitors will also find the Salzmännchegaart with a geological barefoot trail.
The Ramborn Cider Haff in Born is closely linked to the region's traditional orchards. Fruit from the surrounding orchards is used, among other things, to produce cider and perry.
