There are numerous opportunities for hiking around Bourglinster. Several local circular hiking trails start directly at the castle and lead through the surrounding forests and across open plateaus. Along the way, hikers can enjoy beautiful views of the castle and the village.
The J11 cultural trail in particular combines nature and history. It follows sections of an ancient Roman trade route, passes the former Celtic refuge of Beddelsteen and leads past rocks bearing prehistoric grinding marks.
