Eppeldorf is a rural village in the Aerenzdallgemeng, situated between Bettendorf and Beaufort. This well-preserved farming village is surrounded by forests, fields and open plateaus, making it a peaceful starting point for discovering the landscapes in the north of the Mullerthal Region.
The church of Eppeldorf, with its historic Baroque furnishings, is well worth a visit. The history of the village stretches back many centuries: Eppeldorf was first mentioned in written records as early as the 9th century, making it one of the area's old settlements.
The surrounding countryside can also be explored on foot. The Local Hiking Trail E6 passes through Eppeldorf and leads through varied forests and open plateaus. Along the way, the trail passes the Eppeldorf Grotto, which was built after the Second World War by survivors as an expression of gratitude. Viewpoints along the route offer wide views across the surrounding countryside.
In the valley near Eppeldorf lies Hessemillen, a former watermill that is now used as holiday accommodation for families and groups and offers a glimpse into the rural character of the region.
