In the 19th century, ore mining and ironworking played an important role in Fischbach. Today, the Al Schmelz geosite recalls this industrial past. Situated by an idyllic pond, it features the last visible remains of Fischbach’s former ironworks.

Fischbach offers various opportunities for hikers. ExtraTour E of the Mullerthal Trail starts directly in the village and passes the Al Schmelz geosite and the Napoleonshutt rock formation as well as the Kéidenger Brill nature reserve. Local hiking trails also lead through the varied landscapes around Fischbach.

Another special feature is the Fischbach ponds, set amid the green landscape and also accessible via hiking trails.
