Herborn

Where? L-6665 Herborn

Herborn is a rural village in the municipality of Rosport-Mompach, surrounded by fields and extensive woodland. Route 1 of the Mullerthal Trail passes through the village and the nearby Hierberbësch nature forest reserve.

Herborn lies on a spur between the Huesebaach and Schampechbaach streams and is surrounded by fields, meadows and extensive woodland.

The neo-Romanesque church of Herborn was built in 1898 according to plans by state architect Charles Arendt. Its elevated location makes it a distinctive feature of the small village.

To the west of Herborn lies the Hierberbësch nature forest reserve with its near-natural woodland landscapes. Route 1 of the Mullerthal Trail passes through Herborn and then continues through the Hierberbësch and the forests of the Haardt towards Echternach. Herborn is also one of the possible starting points for Route 1.
