The Great Chevalier
Simone Mousset, Louis Chevalier
In "The Great Chevalier", Mr Chevalier — the enfant terrible of contemporary folk dance and the new artistic director of the Ballet National Folklorique du Luxembourg — presents himself at select historic locations. By doing so, he combines folkloric ballet with the unique history of St Pierre et Paul Church.
.
Join us in welcoming a star of the contemporary folk dance scene who is renowned internationally for his artistic audacity, technical mastery and magnetic stage presence. This is a spectacle that combines tradition and innovation. Mr Chevalier brings a personal, virtuoso touch to the ballet's most significant scenes. Stage performances by this unpredictable director and choreographer are rare, emotional and intense.
Simone Mousset, a Luxembourg choreographer and winner of the Luxembourg Dance Prize, plays a decisive role in the revival of the Ballet National Folklorique du Luxembourg. She strengthens the company's profile, prestige, and political influence as a driving force. An associate artist at The Place in London, she is also renowned for her independent creations, supported in France by the CCN de Belfort, KLAP in Marseille, Les Hivernales in Avignon and other institutions.
