Medernach is idyllically situated in the valley of the White Ernz and combines rural charm with a variety of opportunities for active experiences in nature.
Medernach lies in the valley of the White Ernz and is today one of the larger villages in the municipality of Aerenzdallgemeng. The former farming village has developed over time into a lively community while retaining its rural character.
The surroundings of Medernach are ideal for exploring on foot or by bike. Various hiking trails lead through the diverse landscape around the village. The PC5 cycle path also runs through the valley of the White Ernz and connects Medernach with Larochette, among other places.
Near Medernach, at Camping Kengert, there is a barefoot trail and a motor skills park. Different natural surfaces invite visitors to experience the surroundings without shoes, while the motor skills park offers opportunities to test balance, coordination and agility.
A monument commemorating the 9th US Armored Division, which was involved in the defence of Medernach during the Battle of the Bulge, recalls the events of the Second World War.
