Meysembourg Park

Where? CR117, L-7461 Meysembourg

Peaceful park with a private castle, nestled in the nature of the Mullerthal Region.

The Meysembourg landscape park (in the municipality of Larochette) is the largest landscape complex in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, created from 1855 until the end of the 19th century.

Originally, the park, which consisted of an arboretum near the castle and an agricultural and forestry section, extended over several hundred hectares (to the west as far as Angelsberg, to the north as far as the Goldelt farm, to the east as far as Larochette and to the south from Ernzen to Fischbach).

The author of this landscape composition is not known.

A large part of the Meysembourg estate (mainly forest plantations) was cut off at the end of the Second World War. The château farm is no longer in use.

The entire landscape is protected as a national monument.
