Rosport lies directly on the Sûre in the east of the Mullerthal Region. The river landscape, wooded hills and numerous hiking and cycling routes characterise the village and its surroundings.
Rosport lies in the east of the Mullerthal Region directly on the Sûre and close to the German-Luxembourg border. The Sûre, with its distinctive river bend, and the wooded hills surrounding the village shape the landscape.
Rosport is closely associated with the engineer and inventor Henri Tudor. His former residence, Tudor Castle, built in 1892, now houses the interactive Tudor Museum dedicated to electricity and the development of the lead-acid battery. The cultural trail “In the Footsteps of the Tudors” leads through Rosport and tells the story of the village and the Tudor family.
Another special feature is Luxembourg’s only naturally carbonated mineral spring.
Rosport also offers numerous opportunities for hikers. Route 1 of the Mullerthal Trail passes directly by Tudor Castle. Around the Hëlt, local hiking trails and the Hëlt Geo-Pad explore the varied landscape within the bend of the Sûre and offer views over the Sûre valley.
For cyclists, the Tudor Tour leads through Rosport and the surrounding villages. The circular route passes, among other places, the dam and hydroelectric power station in Rosport and partly follows the national cycle routes PC2 and PC3.
