Among its best-known attractions are the castles of Beaufort. The impressive ruins of the medieval castle stand directly beside the Renaissance castle dating from the 17th century. The famous Cassero, a liqueur made from blackcurrants, is still produced there today.
Hikers will also find plenty of opportunities around Beaufort. Route 3 of the Mullerthal Trail leads through the impressive valleys of the Halerbaach and Haupeschbaach and follows the Haupeschbaach directly to the castles of Beaufort. Various local hiking trails complement the offer, leading through forests and stream valleys and past the region’s characteristic sandstone rocks.
Beaufort also offers leisure activities throughout the seasons. In summer, the open-air swimming pool is ideal for cooling off, while in winter visitors can go ice skating on the covered ice rink.
