Where? Route de Müllerthal, L-6211 Consdorf
The “Grotte am Bach” in Consdorf recalls an accident around 1830 and a vow made during World War II. It remains a place of gratitude to this day.
The grotto by the stream in Consdorf commemorates an incident around 1830, when a farmer was travelling on his horse and fell down a cliff. However, both were caught by the trees and escaped death.
The grotto is also a reminder of the Second World War. During the forced resettlement, a family from Consdorf prayed in front of the grotto and made a promise to preserve and care for the grotto if they were to see their home village alive and well again. To this day, the family has kept their promise and maintains the grotto.
