Hinkel is a small village in the municipality of Rosport-Mompach on the edge of the Sûre valley. The rural surroundings offer a variety of opportunities for hiking and cycling.

Hinkel lies in the eastern part of the Mullerthal Region, on the edge of the Sûre valley. Meadows, fields and wooded slopes shape the peaceful landscape surrounding this small village.

Route 1 of the Mullerthal Trail passes close to Hinkel. Along the way, hikers can enjoy beautiful views of the Sûre valley.

The signposted Tudor Tour cycling route also passes directly through Hinkel. The route follows the national cycle path PC3 along the Sûre and climbs from Hinkel via Girst to the pilgrimage chapel of Girsterklaus.
