During this guided tour of the village of Consdorf, visitors will discover the municipality’s architectural heritage from a fresh perspective. Consdorf is home to numerous buildings that reflect its historical development and social structure. The tour explores four themes expressed through the village’s architecture: agriculture, through its historic farmhouses; craftsmanship; tourism; and the Second World War, all of which have left their mark on the village’s layout and built environment.
In keeping with the theme “Heritage at Risk,” the tour offers more than a journey through local history. It also explores how this heritage can be revitalised and given new value. Along the way, participants will encounter restored and revitalised buildings (and their owners), as well as many neglected, vacant or even ruined structures, illustrating the wide range of conservation states within the municipality’s built heritage.
