Echter’World Festival 2026 – ROOTS

From 19 to 21 November 2026, the Echter’World Festival invites audiences to experience music as a cultural language.

Under this year’s central theme “Roots”, three evenings explore the foundations of world music, as well as the origins of languages, dialects, and oral traditions, and the social contexts from which they emerge.

The festival opens with “Roots Luxembourg x Switzerland” – a dialogue between small countries, their dialects, and their linguistic identities.

This is followed by “Roots Africa” featuring Fatoumata Diawara, and “Roots Portugal” with Ana Moura.

The program is enriched by culinary insights into the respective cultures, presenting roots as a holistic experience that unites music, language, and taste.
