Lourdes Grotto Trooskneppchen Echternach

Where? L-6496 Echternach

The Lourdes Grotto Trooskneppchen was built in 1911 by a woman from Echternach. Located on Mullerthal Trail Route 2, it offers hikers a peaceful place to rest after the climb.

In 1911, a woman from Echternach living in Paris had the grotto built. The reason for this initiative is still unknown today. There is a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes in the chapel.

As the grotto is located on a hiking trail, it is often visited by passing hikers who stop here for a short break after the steep climb.
