Memorial in the church – Osweiler

Where? rue Principale, L-6570 Osweiler

The memorial in Osweiler for the victims of the Second World War was inaugurated on 22 April 1951.

Beneath a relief of a Pietà and the inscription ‘Morts pour la patrie’ (Died for the Fatherland) are the names of those who were forcibly recruited or in concentration camps and did not survive the war:

The names of civilians who lost their lives as a result of the war are not listed on the memorial.

Residents who had German citizenship and were therefore liable for military service but were not conscripted also fell at the front or died from war injuries.
