Memorial stone in memory of the war victims in Consdorf

On 16 December 1979, the municipal administration of Consdorf had a memorial stone erected in memory of the victims of the Second World War.

Four Jewish citizens were deported to concentration camps and killed in extermination camps. The memorial stone is a reminder of the consequences of forced military service in the German Wehrmacht, in which many young people had to sacrifice their lives.

Five families were resettled because of their patriotic sentiments. Due to the shooting of the local group leader from Junglinster, numerous inhabitants were taken hostage and imprisoned on remand.

The memorial also commemorates the suffering of the inhabitants during the evacuation and four citizens who were killed by shelling during the evacuation. It also commemorates the typhus epidemic that broke out in Consdorf after the end of the Second World War and all the inhabitants who died as a result.
