Description
Discover the history of the Luxembourg sandstone on the nature path "Mensch & Stein". The highlight of the trail is the old quarry in Beaufort.
The 6km long nature trail "Mensch & Stein" leads along an old railway line to the quarries of Beaufort and Reisdorf. On big boards you will get information about the quarrying, the use and transport of the sandstone as well as its composition.
There is a detailed brochure about the trail. It is available at the tourist information in Beaufort. The start and finish of the trail are at the primary school in Beaufort. Alternatively, you can also start the trail in Grundhof.
For your safety
Weather conditions such as rain, ice and wind can make the tour difficult. The information given refers to optimal meteorologic conditions.
