Memorial commemorating liberation – Osweiler

The village of Osweiler was liberated on 13 September 1944 by soldiers of the 28th US Infantry Division.

In their honour and in grateful memory of all the American soldiers who fought in Osweiler and the surrounding area in the weeks and months that followed, the memorial in Osweiler was inaugurated on 9 May 1982 in the presence of the then US Ambassador to Luxembourg, John Dolibois.
